AGFUND Backs Thomas Latham's Re-electionAGFUND

WACO - The Texas Farm Bureau Friends of Agriculture Fund (AGFUND), Inc. has endorsed the re-election of Thomas Latham, a Republican State Representative from Sunnyvale. Latham is running for re-election in District 101 of the Texas House of Representatives, which includes portions of the Dallas area.

"Thomas Latham is one of those urban legislators whose support has been vital to addressing the needs of rural Texas," said Kenneth Dierschke, president of Texas Farm Bureau and AGFUND. "Mr. Latham understands agriculture and its importance to the Texas economy. His experience and conservative approach to government are important in Austin."

A retired commander in the Garland Police Department, Latham is completing his first term as a state representative. He serves as vice chair of the Law Enforcement Committee and also serves on the Urban Affairs Committee. He and his wife Mary reside in Sunnyvale.

The Texas Farm Bureau is the largest farm organization in Texas, organized in 207 Texas counties. AGFUND is Texas Farm Bureau's political action fund. It is a legal entity separate from the Texas Farm Bureau and may endorse and contribute financially to political candidates.
